單項選擇題

在中考試題中，“單項填空”已成為一種必考題型，由于它考查的重點是學(xué)過的詞匯、語法知識以及運用知識的能力，所以有不少同學(xué)在做這種題型時，顧此失彼，得分率不高。何況，現(xiàn)在的單項選擇題已不再單純考察學(xué)生語法知識了，而是更加注重考察學(xué)生的英語技能和對句子整體語意的把握能力。那么，如何提高解答這種題型的能力呢？這里向同學(xué)們介紹幾種方法。
一、讀懂全句，首尾照應(yīng)。
例：You’d better _______ snacks to the party, for the teachers may take them away. 
A. take  B. to take  C. not take   D. not to take
有的同學(xué)由于受習(xí)慣的影響，剛看完了題干的前半部分，就想到had  better do sth.這一句型，于是就匆忙地選了A做答案。如果你將句子讀完，把全句譯為漢語：“你最好不要帶零食來晚會上，因為要被老師們沒收?！比渥x懂了，根據(jù)句意你就會排除A，而選C為答案了。
二、注意習(xí)慣用語，看清句意。
例1：I enjoy ________ in China very much.   
A. live  B. living  C. to live  D. to be living
例2：―Hello, may I speak to Li Mei?    ―Yes, ---_______.  
A. my name is Li Mei  B. I’m Li Mei  C. this is Li Mei speaking  D. Li Mei’s name
依據(jù)習(xí)慣用法，enjoy, finish等動詞后跟（動）名詞作賓語，而不能跟不定式，因而例1的正確答案為B。
例2根據(jù)所給的情景，我們可以看出這是打電話的開頭語。按照打電話的習(xí)慣用語，此題應(yīng)補上自我介紹的答語。故答案應(yīng)選C。
三、排除干擾，認(rèn)真分析。
答題時一定要認(rèn)真審題，排除干擾，不要只根據(jù)表面形式，而輕易地選取答案。要仔細(xì)分析整個句子所要表達(dá)的真正內(nèi)容，對答案進行逐個篩選，直到找出正確答案。
例：She was going to arrive in Shenyang _______Tuesday, but she didn’t reach Jinzhou ____ Wednesday.   A. on, on  B. on, before  C. on, after  D. on, until
有些同學(xué)一看題目就立刻選A做答案，其實只要我們具體分析一下，就不難看出后半句是not…until句式，所以此題答案應(yīng)選D。
即：對于“單項填空”題應(yīng)從習(xí)慣用語、固定句式、句意、語境、語法等方面進行推理、排除、選擇。
總之，以上三種方法只是拋磚引玉，同學(xué)們在平時學(xué)習(xí)中應(yīng)注意掌握語言基礎(chǔ)知識和培養(yǎng)綜合運用語言知識的能力，把主要精力放在語法知識的重點項目和我們學(xué)習(xí)中的難點，即容易忽視和混淆的地方。同時，用適當(dāng)?shù)木x練習(xí)題進行強化、檢測和總結(jié)，那么“單項填空題”題就會化難為易了。
例析：
1. The weather in China is different _______ that in New Zealand.
  A. to  B. with  C. from  D. for
從句意知該句考察習(xí)慣用語be different from“和… …不同”，其它三個介詞和different搭配都不恰當(dāng)，因此答案應(yīng)選C。
2. It took us two years _______ the house.
  A. build  B. built  C. building  D. to build
該題考查對固定句式It takes sb. some time to do sth.“做某事花費某人多少時間”的掌握程度，答案應(yīng)選D。
3. There isn’t _______ in today’s newspaper.
  A. anything new  B. new anything  C. something new  D. new something
該句為否定句，C、D不能用在該句中，應(yīng)先排除；形容詞修飾復(fù)合不定代詞，定語要后置，所以B也應(yīng)排除，余下的A是正確答案。
4. We’ll go to the Great Wall if it _______ tomorrow.
  A. won’t rain  B. isn’t going to rain  C. don’t rain  D. doesn’t rain
因主句是一般將來時，if引導(dǎo)的條件狀語從句要用一般現(xiàn)在時，便可把A和B排除，有因從句主語it是第三人稱單數(shù)，從主謂一致考慮C不成立，故只有D是正確答案。
